time is spent sourcing community information and getting involved
with community groups and activities in order to provide more detailed
information on what each community has to offer its residents. Readers
are often commenting on how useful they find the directory because
of the inclusion of the community content and many keep hold of their
directories until the next one comes along so it has longevity.
Due to demand from residents who are not
on the distribution routes, a subscription service is now available.
In order to receive a copy of your local directory each month, please
send a cheque made payable to - The Edenbridge Directory
for The Edenbridge Directory subscriptions and The Crowborough

£6 which will provide you with a 6 issue subscription. Please
state clearly the magazine start issue. Cheques should be posted to:

Before launching the first of her local directories,
Laura Mendes worked in the area of marketing and communications in
and around the City of London for over 12 years. Prior to working
in marketing Laura has also enjoyed employment in the TV and music
industries but says of her current role as publisher and editor of
the directories - No job has given me as much enjoyment and
satisfaction as producing these magazines. I have met so many interesting
and inspirational people since I started and being able to actually
see the difference that these magazines have made to the communities
is extremely rewarding. She also started the Edenbridge Homeworkers
Group via the community page in The Edenbridge Directory. The group
consists of people who have businesses they run from home and everyone
takes it in turns to organise the next lunch. We all have fun
and it means we get out of the house for lunch which is good as not
only it is a welcome break to us all, we are also supporting the local
eating establishments at the same time.
